nexGenCoders is a free learning site. We try to collect as little as possible while still being able to run the product. This page explains exactly what is stored and why, in plain language.

1. What we collect

Account information. If you create an account, we store your name, email, username, a hashed password, and optional profile fields you choose to add.
Learning progress. Which lessons you completed, quiz scores, certificates, bookmarks, and your AI question count for the day. This is what lets you resume a course.
AI usage.For signed-in users we store the mode used (for example "Doubt Solver") and the first 200 characters of the prompt so you can see your history. Anonymous questions are counted against a one-way hash of your IP address and are not linked to an account.
Product analytics. Page views, clicks on key buttons, device type, viewport size, and a hashed IP for unique visitor counts. We do not record what you type into the AI box or what code you write.
Contact form. The name, email, subject and message you submit, so we can reply.

2. How we use it

To run your account, save progress, and issue certificates.
To answer nexGen Tutor requests and show your history.
To understand which lessons and pages need improving.
To reply to contact messages and, if you opt in, send the newsletter.
To display advertising that keeps the free tier running.

3. Cookies and advertising

We use a small number of essential cookies for sign-in. If advertising is enabled, Google AdSense may set cookies or web beacons to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads based on your prior visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings.

4. Third-party services

We use the following providers to operate the site:

PostgreSQL — primary database.
Cloudinary — image hosting and delivery.
Upstash Redis — rate limiting for anonymous AI questions.
Vercel — frontend and API proxy hosting.
Google Analytics & AdSense — traffic measurement and advertising.
Anthropic / OpenAI — generate nexGen Tutor responses.
Resend — transactional email (verification, password reset).

5. Data retention and deletion

Account data is kept while your account exists. You can request deletion at any time by emailing contact@nexgencoders.com; we remove your account, progress, AI history and analytics rows linked to your user ID. Aggregated, non-identifying counts may be retained.

6. Your rights

Access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you.
Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.
Ask us how a particular piece of data was collected.

7. Children

nexGenCoders is intended for learners aged 13 and above. If you are younger, please use the site with a parent or teacher. We do not knowingly collect account data from children under 13; contact us if you believe we have and we will remove it.

8. Changes

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for account holders, send a short notice.
